Gazpromneft to help optimize the processes of drilling wells in the fields of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gazprom Neft and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on optimizing the processes of drilling wells in the fields of Uzbekistan within the framework of the Russian Energy Week. This was reported by the information service of Uzbekneftegaz.

For the construction and operation of wells at the fields of Uzbekneftegaz, the operator of the Gazpromneft - Noyabrskneftegaz project will develop a set of engineering approaches and solutions. It includes drilling supervision, drilling equipment audit, recommendations for changing the well design and selection of the optimal drilling fluid formulation.

Gazprom Neft’s advanced technologies and experience will help Uzbekneftegaz reduce well construction time by more than 20%. Cross-functional teams of Noyabrskneftegaz specialists have the necessary technological competencies to work in fields at a late stage of development to maximize the restoration of well productivity.

The partners are also considering the possibility of creating a drilling control center at Uzbekneftegaz, where it is planned to use Gazprom Neft software and its best practices in the field of well construction.

Since 2012, Gazprom Neft has been creating drilling control centers that increase the efficiency of hydrocarbon production and technological processes. Currently, within the company’s perimeter there are 10 well construction control centers with round-the-clock support for drilling high-tech wells, the share of which is 87% of the total. The Gazprom Neft innovation ecosystem allows us, together with partners, to create new technologies and solutions that ensure the company’s technological leadership.

Vadim Yakovlev, Deputy General Director for Exploration and Production, Gazprom Neft:

– Our experience in working with hard-to-recover reserves and complex wells has allowed us to develop unique technological competencies. Today, in the regions where Gazprom Neft operates, there are high-tech centers that remotely manage the construction of wells at the company’s fields.

Bakhodir Sidikov, Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz:

– Uzbekneftegaz is actively implementing a set of measures to digitalize and automate production processes in order to increase their efficiency. The use of advanced technologies in this area will optimize the planning, coordination and control of production processes, which will lead to reduced risks, increased process control and increased productivity. In this context, the creation of a Drilling Control Center in partnership with Gazprom Neft will ensure more efficient and harmonious management of all processes associated with drilling wells. For several years, our specialists have been working on the initiative to create such a center and, based on studying the experience of international companies, they decided to implement the project together with the Gazprom Neft company.

Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft, producing oil and gas at 37 fields in the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The company has experience in implementing technologies that are unique to the industry. Since 2020, it has been constructing double-barreled wells of a high level of complexity, allowing for simultaneous hydraulic fracturing in both horizontal shafts, the length of which reaches 1 km.

The well construction control center (CSCC) of Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz provides complete engineering, technological and geological support for drilling in a single digital space. TSUSS specialists simultaneously monitor the construction of almost 50 production and exploration drilling wells, sidetracking, around the clock, monitoring all stages of the production process - from well pad preparation to commissioning of the well.
