Gazprom is discussing cooperation with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for the long term

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian Gazprom is discussing cooperation with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan for a long-term period of 15 years. This was stated by the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, during the plenary meeting of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

According to him, the parties also plan to expand gas supplies through the Central Asia - Center gas pipeline system.

Alexey Miller noted that Gazprom and the countries of Central Asia have been working for many decades and have a serious baggage of joint projects and areas of cooperation.

The head of Gazprom said that at the current time the parties are at a new level of cooperation.

The head of Gazprom noted that cooperation between the parties has now reached a new important stage. He noted that Gazprom is developing long-term agreements covering a period of 15 years with colleagues from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Meetings and negotiations taking place within the framework of the forum are aimed at signing memorandums with the goal of concluding legally binding agreements by mid-2024, Miller noted.

According to him, this ambitious plan includes expanding Russian gas supplies and developing gas transportation infrastructure in Kazakhstan through the Central Asia Center gas pipeline system.

Miller noted that the discussion concerns not only transit capacities, but also direct supplies of Russian gas to consumers in the above countries.

Gazprom does not rule out the transit of gas through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to third countries, said Alexey Miller.

“Yes, such a possibility also exists. We also talked about the transit opportunities that these states can provide,” said the head of Gazprom.
