Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A gas explosion occurred in a residential building in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent.

Videos from the scene circulating on social media show a resident clinging to a window frame, presumably trying to escape.

The capital’s Emergency Situations Department has commented on the incident.

According to the department, the explosion occurred at approximately 15:23 in the Karasu-4 neighborhood. Emergency response teams promptly arrived at the scene.

Rescue operations are currently underway. So far, five people have been saved, but no official reports on casualties have been released yet.
