Funds to be allocated to confectionery enterprises to finance export trade operations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Decree “On additional measures for the production of high-quality and competitive products in certain industries” was adopted.

According to the resolution, confectionery enterprises are allocated financial resources for up to 2 years in the following amounts to finance export and pre-export trade operations, based on the volume of exports carried out over the last 12 months:

up to US$1 million – with an export volume of up to US$500,000;

up to US$2 million – with export volumes from US$500,000 to US$4 million;

up to US$3 million – with an export volume of over US$4 million.

Until 1 January 2025, packaging and labeling products used in the production of a wide range of confectionery products are exempt from customs duties; Yarn producers who import cotton and artificial fibers for their needs (with the exception of imports from neighboring countries) are reimbursed 50 percent of transportation costs.

The decree also introduced amendments and additions to some regulatory legal acts, providing for:

reduction by 5 times of the current fee levied on yarn exports for a period until 31 December 2024;

granting, for a period until 31 December 2024, to enterprises in whose total revenue from the sale of dyed linen and dyed fabric the share of sales of these products on the domestic market is at least 50 percent, the right to pay social tax at a tax rate of 1 percent and deferment of tax payment on property of legal entities for a period of up to three years;

exemption for a period until 1 October 2026 from customs duties on certain goods necessary for the activities of textile and sewing and knitting enterprises when imported;

extension of the period for making installment payments when leasing land areas, as well as buildings and structures in industrial zones from the current 12 months to 24 months.
