Fund Forum helps to develop theatre art
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Fund Forum assists to development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European states in theatre art.

Currently, the delegation of theater workers of Uzbekistan is paying to Great Britain, Germany and Sweden within the preparation to the International Theatre Festival Theatre.UZ, which will be held in October 2011.

The delegation held fruitful talks with heads of leading European theatres in the United Kingdom and Sweden, visited international theatre festivals and congresses in Germany and Russia. Fund Forum and its offices in Europe, Culture and Sport Ministry, Embassies of Uzbekistan in Great Britain, Germany and Russia assisted the delegation to hold fruitful meetings.

The Uzbek delegation included art director of Uzbekistan Youth Theatre Nabi Abdurahmanov, director-general of Uzbekteater Omanulla Rizaev, leading actress of Youth Theatre Vassa Vasileva.

On 19-23 May, the delegation paid visit to the United Kingdom and held talks with heads of Theatre Royal Stratford East in London, Sherman Cymru Theatre in Cardiff, Quicksilver Children's Theatre in London.

Phillip Mackenzie, Head of Creative Learning, said that projects of the Uzbek theatres are interesting for further cooperation. He added that modern actors work with not words, but with light and space. He noted that Uzbekistan Youth Theatre uses this approach in its plays.

“I will visit Uzbekistan with great pleasure to work with joint plays, hold master classes and develop cooperation between our theatres. I am sure that I will open many new and I will not only share my experience, but learn from the Uzbek colleagues.”

Kerry Michael, art director Theatre Royal Stratford East, expressed interest in participation at the Theatre.Uz and development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Great Briatin.

Quicksilver Children's Theatre is planning to develop cooperation with Uzbekistan in organizationof master classes and joint creative projects.

The delegation also participated at the Augenblick mal! 11th Festival of Theatres for Young Audiences in Berlin and ASSITEJ International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People in Copenhagen, as well as International Chekhov Festival in Moscow.

Nabi Abdurakhmanov, expressing gratitude to Fund Forum for organization of the visit, said it will be pledge for upcoming festival Theatre.uz and development of cooperation of theatric art of Uzbekistan and European countries.
