From 1 July, the European Commission proposes to allow tourists from five Balkan countries to enter the EU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In a document published on 11 June, the EC called on the authorities of the countries of the union, as well as four other Schengen states (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) to maintain the current entry ban for most citizens of other countries until 30 June.

Starting from 1 July, the EC considers it possible to begin easing the ban by opening access from countries where the incidence rate of COVID-19, according to EU authorities, has fallen below a critical level.

“Given that in many countries the situation in the healthcare sector will remain critical, the commission does not propose at this stage a general lifting of travel restrictions. The restrictions should remain in place for countries where the situation is worse than in the EU,” the EC recommendations state.
