On 27 November 2012, French Institute in Uzbekistan will open a scientific exhibition “AIDS: to know – to fight”.

As of the end of 2011, over 42 million people were infected with AIDS. Currently, only preventive measures can halt spread of the disease. Growth of AIDS spread in recent years indicates that it is necessary to raise awareness of population about it.

After the opening ceremony, the documentary “Fight with AIDS” will be demonstrated, which will talk about virus, researchers who discovered it, etc.

On 30 November 2012, French Institute will organize a roundtable dedicated to raising knowledge of youth on the virus. It will be attended by UN agencies and NGOs of Uzbekistan.

On 5 and 12 December, the institute will also show films, which are dedicated to the AIDS.
