The issues of bilateral relations, ways of enhancing partnership in all spheres were considered during the talks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

It was noted that the Uzbek-French relations, especially in trade and economic spheres have a huge potential. In 2011 bilateral trade volume reached 354 million US dollars, which is more than twice the amount of the 2010 indicator.

Concerning investment cooperation, the parties exchanged views on participation of French companies in the prospective joint projects, including the ones in Navoi Special industrial-economic zone and Angren special industrial zone.

The issues of interaction in cultural and humanitarian areas, strengthening of exchanges between the leading educational and scientific institutions of Uzbekistan and France were attached a great importance in the negotiations.

French Ambassador François Gauthier took part at the meeting.
