Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Fraudsters offering illegal assistance in securing employment abroad have been arrested in Tashkent and Navoi region, according to the press service of the Department under the General Prosecutor’s Office.
During raids conducted in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital, a citizen, A.N., was arrested for offering employment in the U.S. to S.K. for a fee of US$21,000. A.N. claimed to have connections that would facilitate the relocation process. He was caught red-handed while receiving part of the payment—US$9,000.
A similar operation took place in the Khatirchi district of Navoi region. There, a citizen, M.I., promised employment in Poland to Y.S., requesting US$1,000 and 6.3 million soums for his services. He was arrested while receiving the agreed sum.
Criminal cases have been initiated under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigative activities are ongoing.
