Four Uzbek banks to get 275bn soums to raise charter capital
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan will direct 275 billion soums to increase charter capitals of four banks in 2015-2016.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On additional measures on further increasing capitalization of banks and strengthening investment activities” on 26 October 2015.

According to the resolution, the Ministry of Finance will direct 275 billion soums to raise charter capitals of National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity, Mikrocreditbank, Agrobank and Qishloq Qurilish Bank.

In particular, Agrobank will receive 100 billion soums to increase its charter capital, NBU – 75 billion soums, Microcreditbank – 50 billion soums and Qishloq Qurilish Bank – 50 billion soums.

The charter capital of NBU and Qishloq Qurilish will be increased due to resources, allocated annually as credit line within the realization of the programme on construction of habitation in rural areas on individual standard projects.

Capitalization of Agrobank and Microcreditbank will be carried out due to resources of special off-budget account of Ministry of Finance and part of income of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, which should be directed to the state budget.

The charter capital of Agrobank exceeds 267.648 billion soums as of the 1 October 2015 and Qishloq Qurilish Bank – 322.907 billion soums. As of 1 September 2015, Microcreditbank had the charter capital for 200.166 billion soums.
