Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Former khokim of Bukhara district Khayrulla Juraev was detained on suspicion of exceeding and abusing official powers, as well as illegal sale of land.

He has been charged under articles 205, 206 and 207 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, relating to abuse of power, abuse of power and causing particularly large damage, as well as official negligence.

He was also charged under Article 229-4 related to violation of the procedure for allocating land.

Khayrulla Juraev was taken into custody in line with the decision of the court.
