Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 February 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held the next round of Uzbek-Tajik inter-MFA political consultations. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sodik Imomi headed the delegations of the respective countries.

During the consultations, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed prospects for cooperation within international organizations. The main attention was paid to issues of trade and economic interaction, the development of connections between regions and industrial cooperation.

During the meeting, issues of creating industrial and trade zones in bordering territories and modernizing border points to facilitate the movement of goods and people were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening the legal framework and discussed the schedule of upcoming events at various levels.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on issues of the regional and international agenda.
