Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4-6 October, Tashkent will host the XII World Bodybuilding Championship at Humo Arena with the support of the 7SABER brand. The competition will be attended by up to 350 athletes from more than 150 sports delegations.
Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia Otabek Umarov noted: “The attention that the head of state personally pays to the development of sports not only determined the outstanding successes of our Olympians and Paralympians, but also actually marked the beginning of a new sports era in Uzbekistan. The whole world continues to experience the consequences of the pandemic: competitions in empty stands have become a sign of a new reality, so the intention to hold a world championship with the participation of fans is a truly bold and serious step. I am confident that the organizers of the competition will take all the necessary precautions, and the World Championship in Tashkent will become a true celebration of sports."
The World Championships will feature the following categories for men and women:
bodybuilding is the most popular category for athletes with significant muscle mass;
athlete-physicist - a category for athletes who structure their training, nutrition and lifestyle to achieve an ideal physique;
fitness physicist - a category in which figure, flexibility, plasticity, technique and aesthetics, as well as elements of acrobatics are assessed;
model physicist - a category for athletes who demonstrate a slender fit body with optimal muscle mass;
sports physicist - a category that takes into account body weight, constitution and physical form.
WBPF President Datuk Paul Chua: “The World Championship is being held after a long break - we had to miss the 2020 season due to a global lockdown. In this regard, we feel great inspiration and pride from the scale with which our partners from Uzbekistan intend to hold the tournament. I can safely say that the upcoming championship will be marked by an unprecedented level of organization: a few weeks ago, representatives of the WBPF visited the facilities of future competitions with an inspection visit and were delighted with the scale. I look forward to seeing everything with my own eyes in Tashkent.”
