For the first time, students of the IT school named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi at the semifinals of the global technology competition will represent Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the international Technovation Girls contest, out of 29 teams, 5 teams of winners were selected who qualified for the semi-final from Uzbekistan. Of these, participants in two teams of the Junior Division - Mizash and Origami are students of a specialized ICT school named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.

The girls from the Mizash team have developed a mobile game with integrated ABA-therapy, which helps the development of children with autism.

Members of the Origami team developed the RoundEx application to prevent cyberbullying of children.

Technovation Girls in Uzbekistan is hosted by Tech4Impact NGO in partnership with the Youth Union of Uzbekistan, the Association for the Support of Children and Families of Uzbekistan, a specialized IT school named after Muhammad Al-Khorazmi, and the Center for Advanced Technologies.

Technovation annually organizes an educational competition for teams of girls from around the world.

Girls learn to solve socially important problems in their communities with the help of technology (they create a mobile application, write a business plan for the project, shoot a video about the project and present it in the final of the competition.

Project goal is development of critical thinking, entrepreneurship and programming skills in girls (10-18 years old). This project will increase the interest of participants and all parties involved in the technical fields, increase the percentage of girls in technical professions.

IT and technology are the profession of the future! The knowledge gained will help girls to adapt in society, will make it possible to take their rightful place in the competitive labor market. In the future, entrepreneurship and programming skills will allow combining part-time employment with family workloads.
