Flight from Irkutsk to Tashkent Returns Due to Bird Strike

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 12 September, a flight from Irkutsk to Tashkent operated by Ural Airlines had to return to its departure airport after a bird struck one of its engines.

According to the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office, the incident occurred at 04:40 local time.

The Airbus A-319, en route to the Uzbek capital, safely landed following the pilot’s decision. There were 91 passengers and 6 crew members on board. No one was injured, and the aircraft sustained no damage, remaining airworthy.

The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and compliance with aviation safety regulations.
