Five Uzbek Boxers Advance to Next Round of World Championships in Liverpool

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the third day of the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool, five Uzbek athletes entered the ring, and all of them secured victories.

In the 51 kg weight category, Feruza Kazakova confidently defeated Panama’s Juliette Hinestroza with a score of 5:0 and will fight again on September 9.

Shavkatjon Boltayev (70 kg) earned a hard-fought 3:2 win over Sweden’s Kevin Scott. His next match is scheduled for September 8.

Sitora Turdibekova (60 kg) overcame Ukraine’s Tatyana Dovgal with a 4:1 victory.

In the heavyweight category (over 80 kg), Oltinoy Sotimboyeva dominated Ukraine’s Maria Lovchynska, winning 5:0. She will face India’s Nupur in the quarterfinals on September 10.

Abdumalik Khalokov (60 kg) also impressed with a decisive 5:0 victory over Turkey’s Mehmethan Cinar. His next bout will take place on September 8.
