Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- There are 5 days left before the start of mandatory digital labeling of water and soft drinks, it is launched on July 1 of this year in accordance with a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Digital labeling is the application of a special Data Matrix code to the packaging of goods and its fixation at each stage of the path: from the production line to the end consumer. Digital labeling also protects the interests of buyers, since with its help the consumer can learn everything about the product, which reduces the risk of buying dangerous or low-quality goods.

The marking system allows to track the entire path of the product from the factory to the store thanks to the unique Data Matrix code that it generates. The code contains data about the manufacturer and suppliers, composition and expiration date, quality certificates, necessary documentation. Using the free Asl Belgisi mobile application, the consumer can scan the Data Matrix code and verify the authenticity of the product.

Getting out of the shadow of unscrupulous companies

One of the advantages of introducing a labeling system is that it will help bring unscrupulous companies out of the shadows and will be able to protect consumers from counterfeit products. Platform that collects data

A digital labeling system is a platform that collects data, subsequently processes and analyzes it. And data is collected on the movement of goods, from the factory to the consumer, from putting into circulation to the disposal of goods from circulation, sales at the checkout. It should be noted that digital labeling will become mandatory for carbonated or still water, drinks, as well as unfermented sweetened fruit and vegetable juices, except for grape juice.

Labeling in the Asl Belgisi system, as well as measures to control it, will be introduced in stages in 2023-2024. The labeling requirement will come into force for both local producers and importers.

The system operator will provide digital marking codes free of charge for non-carbonated water, which is produced on the territory of Uzbekistan in PET bottles up to 0.5 liters.
