Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Five citizens of Uzbekistan were killed in a road accident in Russia.

The accident occurred on December 17 at around 6:00 AM on the 209th kilometer of the "Saratov — Surskoye — Ulyanovsk" highway.

According to preliminary reports, the driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt lost control of the vehicle, veered into the oncoming lane, and collided with a MAZ truck.

As a result of the tragedy, five passengers in the Chevrolet Cobalt, all citizens of Uzbekistan, were killed.

The truck driver was hospitalized with injuries.

Traffic police are working at the scene to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
