First stage of International Industrial Fair kicks off in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first stage of the Fifth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange started at the UzExpoCenter in Tashkent on 4 May 2011.

In line with the resolution of the Uzbek government from 3 March 2011, sectoral stage of the industrial fair will be held on May-June, while International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange will take place on 25-29 October.

The sectoral stage of the industrial fair has been launched with Industrial fair of machinery, electrotechnical and aviation industries, as well as standardization of products.

About 90 enterprises of machinery, automobile, agriculture machinery, aircraft production, electrotechnical, electronic and furniture industries presented their goods at the fair. There are also small and private businesses among participants.

The main aim of the industrial fair is to assist enterprises in solving long-term business relations in production and supply processed raw materials, materials and spare parts, goods, producing new goods based on intra- and inter-industrial cooperation, attracting foreign buyers and partners.

The organizers are also planning to organize fair on communal, transport, capital construction and construction industries (11-13 May), fair of agriculture and water industries, processing of agriculture products and consumer goods (18-20 May).

Fair of education, healthcare, social protection, information system and telecommunication will be held on 18-20 May and fair of geology, fuel-energy, chemical, petrochemical and metallurgy industries on 1-3 June.

Last year, the Fourth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange attracted over 715 enterprises of Uzbekistan. The exposition took 20,000 square meters. Over 3,098 agreements for 2.6 trillion soums were inked within the fair (1.4 times up year-on-year).

The fair was also attended by 750 foreign companies from 51 countries. They signed export contracts for US$2.7 billion, which is 20% more year-on-year.
