First international half marathon to be held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 March 2019, the first Tashkent International Half-Marathon will be held in the capital of Uzbekistan. In the international format, this half marathon will be the debut for the capital.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Hokimiyat of Tashkent, the National Olympic Committee, the Federation of Athletics of Uzbekistan and the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan. The general partner of the event is Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company. Official partners are: Uzelektroapparat trademark Haytera, trademark LADA, Adrenaline Rush.

In the most anticipated race in 2019, participants will be able to run two distances of 21.097 km (half marathon) and a satellite race for 5 km. The track of the largest run of Uzbekistan is certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations IAAF and the Association of International Marathons and Runs AIMS. The organization of this event is consulted by an international company, which includes certified specialists and international-class judges. 

The half marathon will be held along the central streets of Tashkent, which will allow participants of the marathon to see the main attractions of the city.

All participants of the race (laid down in the time limit - 3 hours) will receive memorable medals of finishers at the finish. For winners established prize pool. Men and women in the overall standings from 1st to 8th place in the half marathon race will be awarded cash prizes from 3 to 12 million soums. At a distance of 5 km, a cash reward of 500,000 to 2 million soums is also provided for the winners from 1 to 6 places in the overall standings. 

Everyone interested in the age of 15 years (at a distance of 5 km) and from 18 years (at a distance of the Half Marathon) will be able to take part in this holiday of sports. The half marathon is financed by the organizers, sponsors and charitable organizations, as well as funds contributed by the participants of the event.

The holding of the International Half-Marathon pursues such basic goals as: promoting a healthy lifestyle and promoting running among residents and guests of the city, developing international friendly relations and sports tourism, identifying the strongest marathon runners of Uzbekistan; representation of the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, as a modern city, the infrastructure of which allows mass sports events to be held; attracting athletes and tourists from near and far foreign countries.
