Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 November, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Norkulov held a meeting with the consultant of Berlin Economics on investment in climate and private sector development Jost de Jager.

The meeting was attended by the consultant of Berlin Economics Waldemar Wolter, Director of the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research Umid Abidkhojaev, Director of the Department for the Development of International Cooperation and Protocol Service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Shukhrat Matkarimov, Head of the Department for the Development of the Fuel, Energy and Chemical Industry Kuvanchbek Mustafayev and other responsible representatives.

During the meeting, the parties discussed, first of all, the issues of accelerating the processes of green transformation, mitigating the effects of climate change, ensuring green and inclusive economic growth, improving energy efficiency, efficient use of water resources, and secondly, the development of the logistics sector, in particular transport, the privatization of companies with state participation in the industry, and in the third - the development of the agricultural sector, in particular, the improvement of land relations.

Also at the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the master plans being developed for the development of the socio-economic infrastructure of the regions, in particular, for the development of the service sector, improving the efficiency of information technologies in the sectors of the economy, and supporting the private sector.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction and Berlin Economics are closely cooperating in the development of industries, in particular, engineering, copper, mining, energy efficiency, and also organize a regular exchange of views on ongoing work.
