Finnair plans to launch flights from Scandinavian countries to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Finnair plans to launch flights from Scandinavian countries to Uzbekistan.

Today, this issue was discussed at a meeting in the form of a videoconference with the participation of senior officials of the Ministry of Transport, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Latvia, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, Uzbekistan Airports and the Finnish airline Finnair.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Department for Government Relations of the Finnair airline T. Koskinen discussed the prospects for direct flights with Uzbekistan for tourists wishing to come to Uzbekistan from the Scandinavian countries, shared the airline’s plans in this direction.

The airline expressed interest in carrying out passenger transportation on the basis of commercial agreements "Code-share" with Uzbekistan Airways, as well as in the direction of cargo transportation.

During the conversation, the head of the air transport development department of the Ministry of Transport, U. Bektashev, spoke in detail about the work carried out in our country to create additional amenities for tourists as a result of expanding the geography of flights by attracting foreign airlines.

The Ministry of Transport also expressed full support for the proposals of foreign airlines to launch new flights to Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meeting, the parties identified the tasks that will be implemented in the future within the framework of the discussed areas of cooperation.
