Fifth phase of CADAP launched in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Fifth phase of Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP) has been launched in Tashkent. The European Union finances CADAP.

The CADAP activities are directed at decreasing drug consumption, damages related with drug abuse (HIV infection), expenses of national healthcare system.

New phase of the programme was designed for 2010-2013 and it will be directed to solving problems of public healthcare.

CADAP comprises of three components: DAMOS – raising awareness about drug situation in the country, TRIT – support of modern methods of drug dependence and MEDISSA – preventing drug consumption, awareness rasing and increasing accessibility of treatment.

The main goal of CADAM is to speed up introduction of successful practices of the EU and international structure in fighting drugs and contribute to decreasing problems, related with drugs in five Central Asian states.

The programme will be implemented by European consortium, which included establishments from Czech Republic, Germany and Poland and led by GTZ.
