FIFA President Gianni Infantino Visits Olympic Village in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A FIFA delegation led by President Gianni Infantino, alongside Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia and First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan Otabek Umarov, First Vice President of the Football Federation of Uzbekistan Ravshan Irmatov, and other officials, visited the Olympic Village in Tashkent.
Construction of the Olympic Village, which began on November 9, 2022, reflects the high creative potential of the Uzbek people and the remarkable achievements of Uzbek sports. The complex stands out for its architectural excellence, energy efficiency, and implementation of advanced innovative solutions.
Covering over 100 hectares, the complex unites modern facilities for various sports. The venues are multifunctional and fully prepared to host international competitions across different sporting disciplines.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino highly praised the sports infrastructure and highlighted the extensive reforms in Uzbekistan’s sports sector, as well as the creation of modern conditions for the development of the sporting industry.
