Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- German World Cup-winning player and coach, as well as honourable President of Bayern Munich Franz Beckenbauer was banned for 90 days by FIFA on Friday, the statement of FIFA said.

The FIFA Ethic Committee adopted the decision. The ban was imposed after Franz Beckenbauer failed to cooperate in a corruption enquiry into the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Former US prosecutor Michael Garcia recommended to punish Beckenbauer. German legend did not answer to questions of the investigator both in personal interview and in written form.
