FIDE Grand-Prix to be held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- World Chess Federation (FIDE) Grand-Prix will be held at Uzbekistan Fine Arts Gallery in Tashkent from 21 November to 5 December 2012.

The event will be attended by 12 strong chess players. It is organized by FIDE, Fund Forum and Uzbekistan Chess Federation. Uzbekistan is hosting such event for the first time.

FIDE Grand-Prix is taking place in six stages and the cycle last two years. Three best players after six stages will play in contenders match to play against World Champion (currently Vishvanatan Anand). The match for World Championship will take place in 2014. The first stage of FIDE Grand-Prix was held in London in September-October 2012. Tashkent hosts the second stage. The stage will be in Lisbon, Madrid, Berlin and Paris.

FIDE Grand-Prix in Tashkent will be attended by Sergey Karyakin (Russia), Boris Gelfands (Israel), Ruslan Ponomarev (Ukraine), Perez Dominges (Cuba), Peter Leko (Hungary), Aleksander Morozevich (Russia), Rustam Kasimdzhanov (Uzbekistan), Wang Hao (China), Vugar Gashimov (Azerbaijan), Fabiano Caruano (Italy), Temur Radjabov (Azerbaijan) and Petr Svidler (Russia).

Within the tournament, it is planned to hold master classes with participation of chess masters and Uzbek youth.

FIDE Grand-Prix in Tashkent will be broadcasted to 170 countries, member states of FIDE.
