Fund Forum and the UNESCO Country Office in Uzbekistan organized the Festival of Traditional Culture “Asrlar sadosi”.
Two-day event was rich for events and large number of people attended the festival. According to Fund Forum, over 100,000 guests participated at the event. Number of participants reached 1,500 people.
Some 22 folk groups across Uzbekistan presented their art to the guests, while over 80 art and craft masters demonstrated over thousands of their goods.
Sixteen chiefs cooked various Uzbek national cuisines for guests within the National Cuisine Festival. Fifteen designers from Bukhara, Samarkand, Tashkent, Ferghana and Andijan regions presented their collections at National Costume Festival.
About 100 riders participated at Ulak-Kupkari competitions, while some 15 pairs of rams and 7 pairs of cocks participated in fights. About 100 wrestlers participated at kurash competitions.
Over 300 volunteers of the Center for youth initiatives “Kelajak Ovozi” were attracted to preparation and organization of the festival.
The festival included two international conferences on role of culture in sustainable development and architectural epigraphy. Six books on architectural epigraphy of Bukhara, Navoi, Andijan, Namangan, Khiva and Karakalpakstan were presented.
About 20 students of 10 Islamic educational establishments of Uzbekistan received certificates for stipends within the Program of Support for Spiritual Enlightenment.
