Ferkensco to improve production of phosphate fertilizers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ferkensco Management Ltd. is currently implementing an investment project for the construction of complex for the production of complex phosphate mineral fertilizers in Samarkand region.

A new modern complex is being built on the basis of the former Samarqandkimyo enterprise, all of whose facilities are being built literally from scratch to create a future modern complex.

The launch of the updated high-tech complex of Samarqandkimyo is scheduled for 2023. The capacities of the chemical complex are calculated with the introduction of production at full capacity for the annual production of up to 370 thousand tons of monoammonium phosphate 12:52 (MAP) and up to 540 thousand tons of nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium complex fertilizer NPK of various grades.

It should be noted that the history of the enterprise, then the Samarkand superphosphate plant, began with the first stage of its construction in 1954. The first superphosphate shop was put into operation in 1955 or 67 years ago. In addition to outdated buildings and structures that require a significant amount of capital investment in repair and renovation, technologies that were used more than half a century ago are irretrievably outdated.

As a result, the quality of products manufactured in recent years did not meet the relevant standards, and its production was carried out in inadequate conditions. The investor faced a huge amount of work, due to the state of the plant.

First of all, topographical, geological surveys and hydrogeological studies were carried out by the investor, and a positive conclusion was received on the environmental impact statement (ESI). In parallel, an international company was involved to develop the basic design, and subsequently construction and installation work began at the facility. Today intensive construction work is going on. Actual photo of the object.

All work by the project team is carried out in close cooperation with international financial institutions, marketing and technical consultants.

To provide the future modern complex with the main own raw materials, the investor is also developing a phosphate rock quarry in Navoi region and building an enrichment plant by NEOFOS LLC.

Modern production, which will become Samarqandkimyo, will be equipped with its own latest generation plants for the production of sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, as well as mineral fertilizers. A plan has also been developed for the use of energy-saving technologies, in particular, it provides for its own generation of electricity by using steam generated by a sulfuric acid plant.

A number of patented installations and technologies were tested with the aim of further application of the most resource-saving and highly efficient technologies. Thus, constant analytical work is being carried out to select technologies and equipment that will ensure the most sustainable cost of phosphorus mineral fertilizers, which will be produced at a modern complex and, above all, meet the needs of the country.

As a result of the construction of the complex, more than 500 jobs will be created. After the upgraded Samarqandkimyo reaches its design capacity, the number of employed will exceed one thousand people. Thus, Ferkensco Management Ltd. will contribute to improving the well-being of even more families living in the region.

Accurate economic calculations, study and adaptation during the construction of the Samarqandkimyo complex of the best international experience, as well as the investment experience of Ferkensco Management Ltd. will give in the near future the opportunity not only to meet the demand of the domestic market for phosphate mineral fertilizers, but also to arrange the export of finished products to other countries.
