Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new plant for the production of FAW brand trucks will be built in Andijan, according to the regional administration’s press service.
A delegation from the Chinese automotive manufacturer FAW held discussions with the Andijan regional administration and visited the "Ipak Yuli" Free Economic Zone to assess the site for the future production facility.
Once fully operational, the plant will have the capacity to produce up to 10,000 trucks annually. The estimated investment in the project is around US$100 million, with construction scheduled to begin in November 2024.
It is worth noting that the first FAW truck production workshop in Andijan’s industrial hub started operations in September 2023. This was part of a joint venture with UzAuto Trailer and Vodiy Universal Majmua, for which approximately US$15 million was invested.
