Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The famous sambo wrestler Tura Avlokulov was killed in Kashkadarya region, said press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office Khaet Shamsutdinov.

The incident occurred in Shakhrisabz on 29 March, where Tura Avlokulov was having dinner and drinking alcohol with two acquaintances in a cafe. At the end of the evening, a conflict arose between Tura Avlokulov and his friend U. Shomurodov over payment of a bill of 50 thousand soums.

As a result of the conflict, U. Shomurodov pulled out a homemade pistol from an iron pipe and shot Tura Avlokulov in the head. The athlete was taken to intensive care, where he died on 31 March.

After the incident, the shooter tried to escape, but he was detained by police officers several hundred meters from the scene of the incident.

A criminal case has been opened against him under Article 97, Part 2, paragraphs “e” and “l” (murder committed in a manner dangerous to the lives of others, committed for hooligan motives).
