Fadia Saadakh: Uzbekistan pays great attention to human capital and human potential

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 June this year, Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Kudbiev met with the World Bank Regional Director for Human Development in Europe and Central Asia Fadia Saadakh.

At the beginning of the meeting, the guests thanked the Government of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome. Also, representatives of the World Bank expressed their readiness to support projects implemented in Uzbekistan and further development of cooperation.

World Bank Regional Director for Human Development in Europe and Central Asia Fadia Saadakh is on a working visit to Uzbekistan from 2 to 7 June 2023 and takes part in discussions on supporting the development of human capital in Uzbekistan with representatives of government bodies.

The agenda of the meeting discussed projects of cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of education, healthcare and social protection.

- We see that in Uzbekistan much attention is paid to human capital and human potential. The past period of the pandemic has further expanded Uzbekistan's opportunities to implement World Bank projects in the field of healthcare, said Fadia Saadakh.

Representatives of the World Bank were provided with information that in recent years, systematic work has been carried out in our country to strengthen the social protection of the population, expand the scale and types of state social services for citizens, introduce a completely new management system in this area based on advanced international standards, with for this purpose, the National Agency for Social Protection was created.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on important aspects of expanding cooperation on ongoing joint projects.
