Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the expert group to agree on the draft Concept for the phased formation of a common labor market and regulation of labor migration of the CIS member states and the Decision of the CIS Economic Council on this issue was held on 22 February at the headquarters of the Commonwealth. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.
After discussing the comments and proposals to the draft documents received from the states, the experts made a number of additions and clarifications to the texts, and also decided to continue working on them. In this regard, it was decided to hold the next meeting of the expert group in April this year.
The updating of the Concept for the phased formation of a common labor market and the regulation of labor migration and the development of an Action Plan for its implementation (definition of agreed approaches to the creation of legal and institutional conditions for the rational use of the labor potential of the CIS countries, as well as the free movement of labor, adaptation of migrants to requirements and customs of the state of employment) are spelled out in the Action Plan for the implementation of the first stage (2021-2025) of the Economic Development Strategy of the Commonwealth of Independent States for the period up to 2030.
The drafts of the updated Concept and the Decision of the Economic Council were approved in September 2022 by the Consultative Council on Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Population of the CIS Member States.
