The given event is being held with support of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the All-China Association of Assistance to International Friendship.
"Cultural cooperation promotes deepening of mutual understanding and mutual trust in the huge region which these six countries represent," adviser of the ambassador of the Russian Federation to China Igor Morgulov said. He also attracted attention to the fact that paintings of high level were presented at this exhibition. As far as Russia’s participation is concerned, one may find works of painters from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod in the exhibition’s halls. According Morgulov, the given exhibition will be a good present to a SCO summit due to be held in Yekaterinburg. Besides, as the diplomat said, the holding of the exhibition coincided with the Year of the Russian Language in China, which is a means of international intercourse for five countries-participants in this cultural event.
"In this connection, it might be considered to be one of the events within the framework of the Year of the Russian Language," Igor Morguylov said. A total of about 300 paintings, including 100 works of Chinese painters, were collected at the exhibition. As the organizers of this major cultural event stressed at the official opening ceremony, the given exhibition is to become a kind of a platform for creative exchanges of painters of this region.
