The exhibition displays about 100 works. It is expected that the exhibition will become traditional and will expand the number of participants.

Navruz is an ancient holiday, which is over 3,000 years old. Once the word is invoked, rich traditions cherished by our nation come to mind. Throughout centuries, farmers have celebrated Navruz, the advent of spring, in a sumptuous fashion. Villages have hosted popular merrymaking, featuring diverse national games and cooking traditional spring meals. It is in March that nature awakens from its winter sleep, the world becomes covered in luscious greenery and sowing activities start.

Making visitors feel the advent of the spring and submerge into an atmosphere of joy, renewal and creativity is among the goals of “Native Landscapes”. Artists that have contributed to the exhibition are young artists who, through their works, glorify the beauty and uniqueness of their native land. They include Alisher and Azamat Atabayevs, Dilshod Eshmatov, Elmurod Halukberdiyev, Uktam Saidov, Nodir Akhmedzyanov as well as students of art schools and Bekhzod Art and Design National Institute, who are starting their fine art path and creating landscapes. Of interest are bright landscapes that feature picturesque parts of Uzbekistan, blue mountains, green valleys and hills, spacious plains and flower gardens, as well as works thematic works portraying daily life, activities and local holidays. Each artist has tried to express their admiration and love for their homeland through art.

The exhibition will last until 2 April 2010.
