Exhibition “Inspired by Henry Moore” starts in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- This year on 11 May the State Museum of Art will welcome visitors to an opening of the “Inspired by Henry Moore” students’ work exhibition.

The exhibition consists of 40 lithographic works of students and teachers of art schools, as well as independent artists who took part in master classes by Sarah Gillett –a modern British artist and follower of Henry Moore.

During the workshops, the participants created their own interpretation and vision of the master’s work that is in turn resulted in another exhibition which consists of two parts: the first part includes works made during the master classes and the second one is the participants’ work as a the result of the workshops.

These master-classes were filmed for education purposes and will now be incorporated by four Institutes of Arts into their printmaking programme.

We would like to remind that the “Henry Moore: The Printmaker” exhibition has been running at the State Museum of Arts since February 19 till May 30 this year. The exhibition from the British Council collection presents one of the great artists of the XX century, whose works are displayed at the best galleries, museums and landscapes of the world cities and symbolise modernism, flexibility and connection to nature.

The exhibition has been attended by over 9000 visitors since its opening on February 18 2015. Lectures by David Mitchinson and master-classes by Sarah Gillett provided opportunities for further development for 450 arts specialists, 26 young artists and 24 teachers in printmaking.
