Exhibition “Carpets of Central Asia” takes place in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An exhibition “Carpets of Central Asia” has been launched at Chorsu Gallery in Samarkand city on 5 December 2011, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sport of Uzbekistan said.

The event has been organized in cooperation with the Samarkand Union of historic-architecture and regional art museum and Chorsu Gallery.

The exhibition presents about 50 carpets. The exhibition is directed at demonstrating national traditions of carpet production and its modern development. The exhibition also presents ancient carpets from the local museum.

The events will last till 25 December 2011.
