Exhibition “Caracul of Uzbekistan” begins in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An exhibition “Caracul of Uzbekistan” kicked off at the Museum of Applied Arts in Tashkent, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Sport of Uzbekistan said.

The exhibition presents collection of products from caracul, which was produced by Uzbek Caracul company.

Opening the exhibition, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Sport of Uzbekistan Tursunali Kuziev said that the exhibition presents active development of caracul sector in Uzbekistan, which is based on traditions of masters of Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent.

It was said that caracul sheep became popular in Central Asia due its unpretentiousness and good adaptability. Caracul sheep were popular in Khorezm khanate as there are many historic records about it. Caracul means black rose in translation.

At the opening ceremony, new designers presented their defile from karakul. Khorezm dance Chugurma was masterly performed by dancers of Uzbekraqs, which drew history of creation of caracul products.

The exhibition presents caracul in all stages of production – from preparation of raw material to creation of ready products. The exhibition presented clothes for men and women.
