Uzbekistan U-17 head coach Aleksei Evstafeeev presented results of participation at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico.

He said that team focused on rehabilitation during the first three days in Mexico and main focus was exercises at pool. “We did not want to load players with heave training after long flight and gave them chance to adapt. However, everything went by plan.”

“I will not stop on each match, but I was glad to see that guys showed what they can after heave lost in the first match (against New Zealand),” he added.

Aleksei Evstafeeev said that the players showed their professionalism and fully implemented guidelines of coach. The matches showed that the team has character, he added.

He said that in the match against Uruguay the team can play better, but tiredness and homesickness hinder to show their own game. He said that it is important to have psychologists to such tournaments, and the team missed one during World Cup.

Aleksei Evstafeeev, at the same time acknowledged, that Uruguay was strong and they are prepared good physically and technically. He praised qualities of Uruguayans to show their technical qualities at high speed. However, the tournament helped us to gain great experience, which will be useful in future, he added.
