European Business Association can be founded in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- European Business Association (EBA) can be created in Uzbekistan in near future. A presentation of proposal on creation of the association was held at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tashkent.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Uzbekistan said that the association will unite businesses and companies, which have economic interests between European Union and Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the missions of the countries of the European Union and the EU delegation in Tashkent participated at the presentation.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic said that it is currently preparing list of companies, which are interested to become member of the association and conduct their business in Uzbekistan or plans to work in the country.

East-West Group Holding proposed to create association and its representative in Uzbekistan Oybek Shayhov presented the project.

It is expected that the activities of the bodies of the association will be divided among the missions of the EU member states and the Uzbek state bodies.

The main goals of the association is to represent European business structures in Uzbekistan, support business activities and trade in Uzbekistan, establish close business relations among business structures of the EU and Uzbekistan, improve information dissemination to the EU enterprises.

It is planned that the association will be founded as nongovernmental and noncommercial organization and registered in Belgium with secretariats in Brussels and in Tashkent.

Shayhov said that the secretariat in Tashkent will be part of Belgian organization and registered in Uzbekistan. It will help to implement projects in Uzbekistan and responsible for work with local bodies and resource distribution among implemented projects.

Oybek Shayhov said that large industrial enterprises and banks of the EU member states, as well as commercial structures, educational establishments and others could be interested in becoming member of the EBA.

He said that the EBA should be financed due to membership fees or sponsor resources, provided by companies, which work in Uzbekistan. He said that the EU can finance the EBA activities as well. He said that the budget should cover work of offices in Tashkent and Brussels and finance its projects, like promo campaigns, researches of the Uzbek market, etc.

Shayhov said that the EBA will protect interest of its members in signing of trade contracts, in contacts with local bodies, implementing investment projects in Uzbekistan, providing services on market assessment and others.
