Europe is changing attitudes towards Chinese vaccines

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Europe is changing its attitude towards Chinese vaccines. German Health Minister Jens Spahn recently said that the use of Chinese or Russian-made vaccines in Germany will not be hampered if only these vaccines are approved in the EU.

French immunologist Alain Fisher believes that there is no reason for the EU not to approve the use of vaccines developed in Russia or China. A week ago, the Western media called drugs safe from only two manufacturers - the American company Pfizer and the British AstraZeneca.

What has changed?

Vaccination rates in the EU are now significantly lower than in the US, UK and Israel. And supply delays from pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and AstraZeneca are putting mass vaccinations at risk. Disputes over the volume and priority of deliveries are becoming more and more fierce.

At the same time, Serbia has already received 1 million doses of the Chinese coronavirus vaccine. This is a significant number for a country with a population of 7 million. According to the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, thanks to this, Serbia is ahead of Germany, France and other EU countries in terms of vaccination rates. Hungary, which borders Serbia, became the first EU country to approve a Chinese vaccine at the end of January.

China is actively helping more than ten developing countries with vaccinations. Among them are Pakistan, Brunei, Nepal, the Philippines. In the next phase, China will provide vaccination assistance to 38 other developing countries.

China is also actively cooperating with the COVAX mechanism launched by WHO to ensure equitable distribution of vaccines around the world. Clinical trials of vaccines from Sinopharm Group and Sinovac Biotech have been carried out in many countries, including the UAE, Turkey, Brazil. Thus, in many countries, Chinese vaccines have been shown to be effective and safe.
