Uzbekistan 17/07/2007 EurAsEC Vice Premiers to meet in Moscow

The Vice Premiers of the EurAsEC member states will gather for the Integration Committee meeting on 17 July in Moscow, RIA Novosti quoted EurAsEC press service.

The Vice Premier of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin will preside at the meeting. Participants will address the urgent issues concerning the economic integration of the EurAsEC countries, particularly the formation of the legal framework for the customs union within the frame of the organization.

EurAsEC Secretary-General Grigoriy Rapota said the papers were nearly ready, so it would now be up to the experts to agree on the technical details. He also added that the formation of the legal framework for the EurAsEC customs union would be discussed during the meeting of the heads of member-states at the Inter-state Council in the fall this year.

Apart from this, the Vice Premiers will also go over the drafts of the agreements on the fundamental principles of the exchange rate policy of the organization, the common approach to the use of information technology in customs control over the transportation of goods and vehicles across the borders of the member-states, and the concept of efficient use of water and energy resources of the Central Asian region.

EurAsEC currently includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Armenia, Moldavia, and Ukraine hold the status of observers.
