Tajikistan attaches great importance to the creation as soon as possible of a migration centre as one of important factors of social protection of the labour activity of citizens of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), Tajik Vice Prime Minister Khairinisso Yusufi said at a meeting of the Council on Social Policy at the Integration committee of the EurAsEC on Monday.

The Eurasian Economic Community is an international economic organization which includes six countries - - Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine have the status of observers, Itar-Tass reported.

According to the Tajik side’s official data, about 500,000 Tajik nationals work in the CIS countries, in particular in Russia. Independent experts affirm that these figures are much higher.

EurAsEC Secretary General Tair Mansurov takes part in the meeting of the Council on Social Policy at the Integration Committee of the EurAsEC. He is to have a meeting with President Emomali Rakhmon of Tajikistan in the afternoon.
