Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Center for the Study of Transport and Logistics Issues under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a working meeting with a delegation from the European Union, as well as representatives from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the development agency Expertise France.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the preparation of project documentation for the first phase of the "Soft Connectivity" program. The European delegation, in turn, provided information on the development of the EU’s regional transport program for Central Asia, aimed at providing technical support to the countries of the region in implementing infrastructure projects within the Global Gateway initiative.

The Ministry of Transport presented key projects being implemented to improve connectivity, standardize the regulatory framework, and simplify cross-border freight transportation procedures.

As a result of the meeting, EU representatives expressed interest in organizing a roundtable involving the private sector to discuss potential projects and possible directions for technical assistance in more detail.
