The foreign diplomats held meetings at the regional administration, educational establishments and enterprises to learn about the region’s socioeconomic development, UzA reported.

A particular emphasis during the visit was made to Surkhandarya’s potential for attraction of foreign investments and creation of joint ventures in various sectors.

The heads of the missions got acquainted with the archaeological works at Kampyrtepa, legendary Oxian Alexandria, which is an object of material cultural and historical heritage of world importance.

They saw the unique exhibits of the Termez city history museum, created on the initiative of the President Islam Karimov.

The visit to the monumental mausoleum complex of the great scholar Al Hakim at Termeziy, also restored on the President’s initiative, made a particular impression with the European diplomats.

The foreign guests gave a high evaluation to the wide-scale work carried out in the region to protect and restore the objects of historical importance, as well as reforms in all spheres of life.
