EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan to pay a two-day visit Ferghana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18-19 July 2023, European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adrian will take part in the Friendship Bridges in the Ferghana Valley forum, organized by the EU-funded regional project Cross-Border Multilateral Dialogue for Tolerance and Peace in Central Asia”, which is implemented by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. 

The forum will bring together representatives of government agencies, youth leaders and experts from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to present the results of the project and discuss issues of peacebuilding and sustainable development in the participating countries.

The Ambassador will also meet with representatives of local authorities, visit the Ferghana Polytechnic Institute, where he will meet with the leadership of the educational institution and local coordinators of the Erasmus + program funded by the EU.

On 19 July, the Ambassador will visit the EU-funded Ferghana Valley Water Management Project and then meet with the local business community. The program of the visit also includes meetings at the NGO Tarakkiyet, which is working on the EU-funded BOMCA10 - Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia, aimed at strengthening security, stability and sustainable growth in the region, supporting cross-border cooperation and improving living conditions for people in the border regions of Central Asia. Asia and NGO "Mehrjon", a grantee of the "Spotlight Initiative Program", a project that aims to prevent violence in the family and society through advanced training of lawyers, psychologists, social workers and leaders of 20 NGOs in the region.
