Thousands of fans came out to watch the clinic and see the three-time African Player of the Year set up one goal when he played ten minutes for a Kuruvchi reserve side against the Uzbekistan U-19s.

The Cameroon international was in Tashkent discussing a possible multi-million dollar deal to play for Kuruvchi in the AFC Champions League and the remainder of the domestic campaign but whether or not Eto’o will be donning the shirt of the Uzbekistan league leaders for real remains to be seen.

Speaking to reporters prior to meeting the Uzbek youngsters, Eto’o remarked:

“There is an offer from Kuruvchi which is why I am here in Tashkent…that and to get to know the people and the interesting things about this country.

“I want to say that I have offers from other clubs and the decision I make will be the right one for me.

“I have made a deal with the Vice President of Kuruvchi, Tavakkal Isomilov, that when I make the decision he will be the first to know.”
