Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution “On the state program for the development of horse breeding, equestrian sports, modern pentathlon and polo in Uzbekistan until 2025” was adopted.
According to the Resolution, in 2021-2025 the following will be created:
- 67 sections in children’s and youth sports schools in equestrian sports, including 52 sections in modern pentathlon and 15 sections in polo;
- sections of equestrian sports and modern pentathlon in each college of the Olympic reserve;
- 170 horse breeding farms in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions with the aim of breeding thoroughbred and thoroughbred horses.
From the 2021/2022 academic year, in stimulating equestrian labor, a master rider, groom, farrier, head (foreman) of a stable are equated with a trainer, a veterinarian - with a doctor, a livestock technician and a paramedic - with a veterinary nurse.
From the 2022/2023 academic year:
- The Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine and its Nukus and Tashkent branches open a bachelor’s program for the training of veterinarians and livestock specialists specializing in animal husbandry;
- In the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports and its Nukus and Fergana branches, a special correspondence course will be opened in the direction of a bachelor’s degree in equestrian sports.
Starting from 1 September 2021, international equestrian tournaments "O’zbekiston Respublikasi Prezidenti kubogi uchun" in Tashkent region, hurdle jumping (show jumping) "Qarshi Open" in Kashkadarya region, "Millatlar kubogi" in the city of Tashkent will be organized.
Until 1 September 2022, a modern stable building with 30 seats and an open sports arena will be built on the territory of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports.
