Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, there are 63.2 thousand industrial enterprises operating in the republic, of which 11.0 thousand (17.4% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in Tashkent city, 6.7 thousand (10.5%) - in Fergana, 6.5 thousand (10.3%) - in Tashkent, 5.3 thousand (8.4%) - in Samarkand and 5.2 thousand (8.2%) - in Andijan regions.

According to preliminary data, in January-July 2024, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 435.2 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period in 2023 amounted to 107.1%.

An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita for January-July 2024 showed a significant excess of the national average (11 771.3 thousand soums) in Navoi region (69 817.2 thousand soums), Tashkent city (27 097.5 thousand soums) and Tashkent region (23 055.0 thousand soums).

In the production structure, the largest share falls on enterprises of the manufacturing industry (83.1%), the production volume of which amounted to 361.6 trillion soums.

In January-July 2024, the largest share in the total volume of industrial production in the republic was made up of Tashkent city (19.0%), Navoi (17.3%), Tashkent (16.2%), Andijan (9.5%), Fergana (5.1%) and Samarkand (5.1%) regions.

Compared to the same period in 2023, the average industrial production indicators in the republic increased thanks to enterprises in Andijan (109.7%), Namangan (108.6%), Navoi (108.4%), Fergana (108.3%) regions and Tashkent city (108.2%).

The volume of products manufactured by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-July 2024 amounted to 37.2 trillion soums, or 8.5% of the total industrial volume.

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries was 1.3% (1.4% for January-July 2023), medium-high-tech - 22.7% (23.8%), medium-low-tech - 39.2% (38.0%) and low-tech - 36.7% (36.8%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, installation of machinery and equipment, production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, other finished metal products amounted to 20.5% (the index of physical volume for January-July 2023 amounted to 107.2%), the metallurgical industry - 25.4% (the index of physical volume for January-July 2023 amounted to 107.8%), enterprises for the production of textiles, clothing, leather products - 16.7% (the index of physical volume for January-July 2023 amounted to 112.0%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises producing food, beverages and tobacco products amounted to 16.2% (the index of physical volume for January-July 2023 amounted to 104.5%), enterprises producing chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 7.8% (the index of physical volume for January-July 2023 amounted to 107.4%).

In January-July 2024, the republic produced 789.5 thousand tons of motor gasoline (an increase of 0.7% compared to the same period in 2023), 367.8 thousand tons of cotton yarn (an increase of 11.7%), 152.0 million liters of beer (a decrease of 0.9%) and 515.9 thousand tons of soft wheat and spelt flour (a decrease of 16.0%).

In January-July 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 1 835 trucks (compared to the corresponding period of 2023, the production volume increased by 33.4%).

In the country’s automotive industry, 84 758 Cobalt cars were produced in January-July 2024 (the growth rate increased by 51.4% compared to the same period in 2023), 4 869 - Chery (a decrease of 6.6%), 11 300 - KIA (an increase of 22.1%), 12 837 – "Gentra" (decrease by 70.9%), 48 884 – "Damas" (increase by 12.4%), 15 339 specialized passenger cars (increase by 22.4%), 23 378 – "Tracker" (increase by 18.5%), 18 238 – "Onix" (increase by 34.8 %), 6 – "Lada" and 628 – "Haval".

In January-July 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 142.2 thousand automobile engines (an increase of 15.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2023).

In January-July 2024, large enterprises in the mechanical engineering industry produced 523.5 thousand pieces of lead-acid batteries for starting piston engines (compared to the corresponding period of 2023, a decrease in production of 17.5% was recorded).

In January-July 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 268.3 thousand units of refrigerators and freezers (compared to the corresponding period of 2023, a decrease in production of 43.1% was recorded).

Carrying out major restoration work on process equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilisation of chemical plants and exceed the previous year’s production figures for the output of disodium carbonate (118.6% compared to January-July 2023) and potassium chloride (106.7%).

In January-July 2024, the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 25.4%, the physical volume index increased by 7.8%, and the production volume amounted to 91 786.4 billion soums.

According to the results of January-July 2024, the share of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 4.8%, the index of physical production volume increased by 11.3%, and the production volume amounted to 17 401.3 billion soums.

In January-July 2024, the share of food products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 12.4%, the index of physical volume was 103.4%, and the total production volume was 44 740.2 billion soums.

The volume of products manufactured by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply enterprises in the period under review amounted to 34.0 trillion soums (7.8% of the total industrial volume).

Compared to the same period in 2023, in January-July 2024, electricity production amounted to 94.5%, thermal energy - 95.8%.

The volume of products manufactured by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises in January-July 2024 amounted to 2.4 trillion soums (0.6% of the total industrial volume).

Compared with the corresponding period of 2023, in January-July 2024, there was a decrease in the production of textile waste by 7.3%, an increase in services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and its treatment by 1.7 times, a decrease in services for emptying, cleaning and treating cesspools, settling tanks and septic tanks by 0.1%.

In January-July 2024, small businesses produced goods worth 123.6 trillion soums, the share of which in the total production volume was 28.4%. For the period from January to July 2023, the share of small businesses in the total production volume was 25.8%.
