Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-March 2024, enterprises of Uzbekistan produced industrial products worth 166.4 trillion soums, the index of physical volume of industrial production compared to the same period in 2023 amounted to 106.5%, the Statistics Agency said.

Today, there are 62.8 thousand industrial enterprises in the republic, of which 11.0 thousand (17.5% of the total number of operating enterprises) are in Tashkent city, 6.7 thousand (10.6%) in Ferghana, 6.6 thousand (10.5%) - Tashkent, 5.5 thousand (8.8%) - Samarkand and 5.1 thousand (8.2%) - Andijan. region.

An analysis of the differentiation of industrial output per capita for January-March 2024 showed a significant excess of the republican average (4 510.8 thousand soums) in the Navoi region (26 559.1 thousand soums), Tashkent city (10 254.9 thousand soum) and Tashkent region (8 329.7 thousand soum).

In the structure of production, the largest share falls on manufacturing enterprises (79.6%), the production volume of which amounted to 132.4 trillion soums.

In January-March 2024, the largest share in the total industrial production in the republic was Tashkent city (18.8%), Tashkent (15.3%), Navoi (17.2%), Andijan (10.5%), Samarkand (4.9%), Ferghana (5.1%) regions.

Compared to the same period in 2023, average industrial production in the republic increased due to enterprises in Jizzakh (112.8%), Andijan (129.6%) and Namangan (109.8%) regions.

The volume of products produced by mining and quarrying enterprises in January-March 2024 amounted to 16.8 trillion soums, or 10.1% of the total industry volume.

Manufacturing enterprises produced products worth 132.4 trillion soums in January-March 2024, or 79.6% of the total industrial volume.

In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of high-tech industries was 1.4% (2.3% for January-March 2023), medium-high technology - 24.1% (20.8%), medium-low technology - 37.2% (35.0%) and low-tech – 37.3% (41.9%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises for the production, repair, installation of machinery and equipment, production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, and other finished metal products amounted to 21.8% (the physical volume index by January-March 2023 was 122.9%) , metallurgical industry -24.7% (physical volume index by January-March 2023 was 106.1%), enterprises producing textiles, clothing, leather products -19.1% (physical volume index by January-March 2023 amounted to 103.8%).

In the volume of the manufacturing industry, the share of enterprises producing food, beverages and tobacco products was 15.2% (physical volume index by January-March 2023 amounted to 88.1%), enterprises producing chemical products, rubber and plastic products - 7.4% (physical volume index by January-March 2023 was 104.9%).

In January-March 2024, the republic produced 360.6 thousand tons of motor gasoline (compared to the corresponding period in 2023, a decrease of 6.4%), 150.3 thousand tons of cotton yarn (an increase of 4.6%), 32.9 million liters of beer (0.4% decrease) and 268.0 thousand tons of soft wheat and spelled flour (19.6% decrease).

A truck is a vehicle designed to transport goods in the back or on a loading platform. During January-March 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 720 trucks (by the corresponding period in 2023, production volume increased by 29.3%).

During January-March 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 127 buses (by the corresponding period in 2023, production volume decreased by 36.5%).

In the country’s automotive industry, in January-March 2024, 28 356 Cobalt cars were produced (the growth rate compared to the same period in 2023 was 59.5%), 2 990 Chery cars (an increase of 3.5 times), 4 980 – “KIA” (increase by 1.5 times), 8 811 – “Gentra” (decrease by 20.9%), 18 996 – “Damas” (increase by 12.7%), 6 317 passenger cars specialized (growth by 1.7%), 12 025 – “Tracker” (growth of 7.2 times), 8,338 – “Onix” (growth of 14.9 times), 38 – “Exeed” and 205 – "Haval"

In January-March 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 159.8 thousand units of pneumatic rubber tires for passenger cars (by January-March 2024, production volume decreased by 31.0%).

During January-March 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 63.2 thousand units of automobile engines (an increase of 1.4 times compared to the corresponding period in 2023).

During January-March 2024, large enterprises in the engineering industry produced 198,0 thousand units of lead batteries for starting piston engines (a 32,5% decrease in production was recorded by the corresponding period in 2023).

During January-March 2024, large enterprises of the republic produced 93,4 thousand units refrigerators and freezers (by the corresponding period in 2023, a decrease in production of 18,1% was recorded).

Carrying out capital restoration work on process equipment made it possible to increase the capacity utilization of chemical enterprises and exceed the previous year’s production figures for the production of disodium carbonate (107,7% by January-March 2023).

In January-March 2024, the share of the metallurgical industry in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 24,7%, the physical volume index increased by 6,1%, and the production volume amounted to 32 654,6 billion soums.

According to the results for January-March 2024, the share of other non-metallic mineral products in the structure of the manufacturing industry amounted to 4,3 %, the index of physical production increased by 5,2 %, and the volume of production amounted to 5 638,7 billion soums.

For January-March 2024, the specific weight of food products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 11,5%, the physical volume index was 81,2%, and the total production volume was 15 169,2 billion soums.

For January-March 2024, the share of beverage production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3,1%, the physical volume index was 104,3%, and the production volume reached 4 063,3 billion soums.

At the end of January-March 2024, the share of textile production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 14,9%, the physical volume index increased by 4,3%, and the production volume became equal to 19 715,0 billion soums.

In January-March 2024, the share of clothing production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3,8%, the physical volume index increased by 1,9%, and production volume reached 4 976,0 billion soums.

In January-March 2024, the share of chemical products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 5.7%, the index of physical production volume increased by 4.6%, and the production volume amounted to 7 557.6 billion soums.

At the end of January-March 2024, the share of production of coke and petroleum products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 3.8%, the physical volume index increased by 40.5%, and the production volume amounted to 5 044.1 billion soums.to 2 482.6 billion soums.

For January-March 2024, the share of production of rubber and plastic products in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 1.7%, the physical volume index was 106,0%, production volume was 2 226.5 billion soums.

For January-March 2024, the share of electrical equipment production in the structure of the manufacturing industry was 2.9%, the index of physical production volume was 102.9%, and the production volume was 3 821.7 billion soums.

The volume of products produced by electricity supply, gas, steam and air conditioning enterprises during the period under review amounted to 16.3 trillion soums (9.8% of the total industry volume).

Compared to the same period in 2023, in January-March 2024, electricity production amounted to 100.9%, heat energy production - 104.3%.

The volume of products produced by water supply, sewerage, waste collection and disposal enterprises in January-March 2024 amounted to 0.9 trillion soums (0.5% of the total industry volume).

Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, in January-March 2024 there was a decrease in the production of textile waste by 13.9%, an increase in services for the removal, transportation of wastewater and their treatment - by 1.7 p, services for emptying, purification and treatment cesspools, settling tanks and septic tanks by 3.1%.

In January-March 2024, small businesses produced products worth 41.0 trillion soums, the specific weight of which in total production amounted to 24.7%. For the period from January to March 2023, the share of small businesses in total production amounted to 28.4%.

The development of industrial production in the republic was also facilitated by the implementation of the Program for Localization of the Production of Finished Products, Components and Materials, within the framework of which 1 745 projects produced products worth 21.8 trillion soums, exported localized products worth 155.7 million US dollars, created 4 140 new jobs.
