UzA reported that they also produced consumer goods for 53.2 billion soums (+17%) and leather products for 198 million square decimeters (+25.8%).

Enterprises of Uzbekcharmpoyabzali produced 4.1 million pairs of footwear (+20%) and leather- dry goods for 2.9 billion soums (+3.2%).

The enterprises also increased exports by 3.3 times to US$37 million. They also manufactured localized goods for 23.6 billion soums (+39%).

Association Uzbekcharimpoyabzali created by the Decree of President of Republic Uzbekistan № 2552, dated 23 February 2000. The main objectives of the Association is coordinating the activities of the industry in collecting and processing of hides and skins, manufacture competitive leather products, footwear and leather products, as well as a unified technical and investment policy, the broad attraction of foreign investment, introducing advanced technology, modernization and technical re-equipment of the industry.

The Association Uzbekcharimpoyabzali includes 92 companies. The main raw leather and footwear industry are hides of cattle and small ruminants, which are available in the required amount in the domestic market.

Annually produces about 11.0 million pieces of leather, including 7.0 million pieces of small cattle and 4.0 million pieces of cattle. Leather processing industries annually processed and manufactured leather goods 500 million square decimeters and export volume of over US$20 million.

Footwear and leather enterprises of Uzbekistan annually produce over 10 million pairs of high-quality footwear, leather garments and contemporary leather goods by 12 billion soums.
